“ Had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful steakhouse today. I ordered the branzino along with some other dishes that my friends ordered and we were able to take an ample sample. The food was delightful. The service was impeccable. Our server was Tim. He treated us like family. The decor in the restaurant was a showstopper. Different works of art located throughout your whole dining experience. Wonderful to look at . I will definitely be back. Happy eating ”

“ I came early on a Monday. So it wasn't busy for both of those reasons. But there was still lovely LIVE music. Started with the bread selection, which is optional for a modest $5. There were 4 different choices in the basket, my favorite of which was some type of pumpernickel that was outstanding. Also in the basket? a homemade soft pretzel log, a garlic bread crisp, and a normal dinner roll. For my salad I chose the Chopped Wedge, which is exactly what it sounds like, a wedge salad but not in wedge form! Plentiful, actually abundant bacon, chunky and creamy blue cheese, and even added some hardboiled egg, which I appreciated. Filet was great and I accompanied that with a single portion (which they did without hesitation) of the scalloped potatoes. They were outstanding. The 6oz filet looked diminutive on the oversize plate, but it was plenty for me. By the time I ordered dessert, the bar was completely packed and the dining room was filling upstairs and down. Dramatic presentation of the shrimp cocktail ordered all around me. Comes out "smoking" with the help of a little dry ice magic. Key Lime pie, clearly homemade with a Graham cracker crust hand pressed into the edges so it was so thick you almost needed a knife to cut it (that's a good thing!). It was delicious, and the pie itself with the real shacken, aerated whipped cream on top was dangerously decadent. Did not have any alcoholic beverages (just a ginger ale which in and of itself was a fancy glass bottle, not from the soda gun) but the drink menu was expansive as was the wine selection. There are tables available right AT the window, at street level, looking onto 52nd. I do wonder if there is an al fresco option in the warmer months? A word about the bathroom, which I will say first, was immediately attended to upon my informing them that someone had left the bathroom looking worse than a Subway lavatory. It was like something out of FearFactor. I can only hope it was cleaned and rectified immediately. But it was not a good look right before I ate. Turned my stomach a bit. That notwithstanding, I would 100%come back and bring friends next time. Highly recommend. $$$$ ”

“ My party of 3 came to Mastro's at 4 pm on Christmas Eve. We dropped our coats at coat check and were quickly seated. Our waiter George was great. He was helpful in making selections and obviously service oriented. Our table ordered the following: -Caesar salad- crisp and delicious. As simple as a Caesar can be this one was outstanding. George advised this over the chop salad and I loved it. -Lobster Bisque- creamy with large chunks of lobster. Just needed a little salt and pepper. -waguyu meatballs- very hearty portion of two large meatballs topped with barrata cheese. Moist and flavorful. -Double pork chop cooked medium- nice crust and a juicy delicious center. It came with an apple butter that the sweetness made the pork even better which I didn't think was possible. This was the best pork chop I've had in a while and yes I eat pork often. - Tbone was perfectly cooked. Charred on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. - NY strip- I didn't try this but my son loved it. - mushrooms- my husband said these were great too, but I didn't try them -cauliflower was ok in my opinion. It was quite crunchy and the truffle wasn't very strong. -Mac and cheese was very cheesy and another hearty portion. This was more cheesy than creamy. My family loved it. It was enough to share with at least 4 people if you have other sides. -bread basket has pumpernickel rye, pretzel bread, a white French bread and a Parmesan crunchy bread. They will refill this on request. Overall this meal was phenomenal. Not only was food and service amazing but it was a very nice family meal for the holiday. We all left happy and very full. We also had plenty of leftovers. ”

“ Grabbed a table for a Saturday evening and we were seated downstairs, which was nice and chill (upstairs was pretty rowdy due to the bar area). My boyfriend and I shared the Caesar salad, New York strip, sautéed spinach, garlic mashed potatoes and signature warm butter cake. The steak could have had more flavor, but it was well cooked. Overall the food was really solid. Great service, too. Not as good as Wolfgang's Steakhouse, Strip House, Del Frisco's, or Hawksmoor, so not sure I'd return, but it's a good option in the area. ”

“ Food was amazing. This was my 1st steakhouse every item purchased was delicious. Portions were great I came with two friends and we shared everything I left super stuffed I can't imagine eating everything alone. The ambiance was okay. It's super dark. My friends and I sat downstairs by the wine case and there were little kids making noise and birthday dinners around us just too much noise. Glad the food and service compensated for it ”

“ Had such a nice dinner here! It was an energetic vibe on a Sunday evening - we sat at a high top near the singer-songwriter who was playing. We had a couple nice cocktails to start. The scallop appetizer was fantastic. Then we shared the filet and Chilean seabass. The seabass was standout - one of the best I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked and a large piece of fish. Our server was very nice and attentive as well. ”

“ Pricey but the most quality meal and service around. My husband and I love coming here for celebratory dinners because the ambiance is perfect for us. They have live music at least on weekends and even the bar area offers a fancy dining experience but with a more casual feel. Go tos: The bone-in filet is their signature Crab cakes are full of crab meat French onion soup is superb Warm butter cake is decadent Schezuan green beans were fantastic! ”
